Welcome to the IELP Learning Center!

The IELP has two Learning Centers: 

• The Learning Center Computer Lab                

• The Learning Center for Tutoring

The Learning Center Computer Lab is located in Science Building 2, room 169.  It is the best place to

• Practice English using computers and specialized English language learning software
• Work on class assignments
• Practice for the Internet-based TOEFL
• Type and print homework assignments
• Watch videos, DVDs, and movies
• Listen to recordings on CD or audiotape
• Scan and print documents

The Learning Center for Tutoring is in East Hall, room 219.  This is a great place to

• Work with a tutor
• Practice for the TOEFL and other tests
• Borrow great books

English Language Tutors

English language tutors are available to help the students in the IELP Learning Center for Tutoring. IELP students can drop-in to talk to a tutor or make an appointment. Tutors in the IELP Learning Center help students with coursework, conversation skills, writing assignments, and pronunciation practice.

Tutors are available FREE of charge to students who are currently enrolled in ESL classes at PSU.

Computer Assisted Language Learning
The IELP Learning Centers have 30 computers. Students can use specialized English language learning computer software programs to practice pronunciation, grammar, spelling and keyboarding. Students can also build reading and vocabulary skills, listen to lectures, practice taking the TOEFL, and much more.

ESL Library
Students can borrow books, magazines, and newspapers from the IELP Learning Center Library located in EH 219.
