Q1. How do I meet a Learning Center
tutor?
A: It's easy! Just go to the Learning Center Tutoring Center on the second
floor of the East Hall, room 219. Please make an appointment
on the sign-up sheet outside the door.
Q2. Must
I make an appointment?
A: No, if the tutor is not busy, just stop and
introduce yourself. Then you can ask the tutor questions about English.
Q3. Who are the Learning Center tutors?
A: The Learning Center has six tutors. The tutors are graduate students
in the M.A. TESOL program at PSU.
Q4. How can the Learning Center
tutors help me?
A: They can help you with reading, writing, grammar,
pronunciation, or listening in English. Some can assist you with the TOEFL iBt. The tutors can help you understand information
from your IELP classes. Also, they can answer questions you might have about American
culture.
Q5. What times can I meet with a Learning
Center tutor?
There are six experienced tutors in the Learning Center for Tutoring (EH 219) to help you. The hours of the Centers vary depending on the term.
Q6. Where are the tutors?
During the fall, winter and spring, the tutors are always in EH 219. During the summer, the tutors are in EH 219 Monday to Friday and SB2 169 Saturdays.
