How to Apply
Applying
to the IELP is easy. Just follow these steps!
Complete and submit each of
the following documents that apply to your situation. (You will need Adobe
Acrobat Reader to view these forms.)
Which type of student are
you?
International students (full-time applicants
requiring an F-1 student visa): follow steps 1 - 8 below.
U.S.
residents or other international applicants who do not need an F-1 visa:
contact the IELP Office directly for special application instructions and about the reduced
application fee for part-time students. You will need to complete the Measles
Vaccination Form (page 3-4 of application) and Non-degree entry
form.
1. IELP
Application Packet and $150 non-refundable application fee.
Open and complete the form using your computer and then print it, or print this form and write in your information. The first three pages are instructions to assist you. You do not need to submit these.
Be sure to first mark the box for the term in which you wish to begin your study (your admission term).

Students
who plan to apply for an F-1 student visa *must* complete the Declaration of Finances form.
Non-F-1 visa applicants are not required to complete the Declaration of Finances section
2.
Proof of secondary school completion in original language and in English.
This can be an official copy of your graduation diploma/certificate or official academic transcript, from either your high school or university.
3.
Complete the "Measles Vaccination Form" (page 3-4 application)

Include a copy of your passport identification photo page.
5. Complete the "Transfer
Clearance Form" (page 5 of application)
*Required for applicants who are currently
in the U.S. with an F-1 visa.*
6.
Evidence of Financial Resources
Required for applicants
who plan to reside in the U.S. with an F-1 visa.
Please submit an
official form or letter from your bank (or financial supporter)
showing you have sufficient financial support for your stay in the USA.
If someone living the USA is sponsoring you or providing financial
support, a form I-134 Affidavit
of Support Form will be required for your visa interview. The Affidavit of Support Instructions will explain what is needed and how to fill out this form. The ORIGINAL form I-134 is to be provided to the student for the visa interview. A copy of the form is to be sent in with the IELP application.

9. Health Insurance Requirement
IELP students are required to purchase the extended health insurance policy, during each term of study, provided by Portland State University. Students will be covered by a comprehensive health insurance policy and will also be able to use the Student Health and Counseling Center on the PSU campus.
