IELP Admission Requirements

In order to be admitted to the Intensive English Language Program, you must:

• Be 17 years of age or older
  
  
• Have completed high school or its equivalent
  
  
• Have a minimum grade-point-average (GPA) of 2.75 as a high school graduate, a 2.5 as a transfer student from another institution, or 2.25 as a university graduate.
  
  
• Submit a complete Application, including:
  
  
  • Proof of financial support for the time you wish to study in this program (if you plan to apply as an F-1 or J-1 visa student)
    
    
  • Submit a refundable $100 Application Fee (if you plan to enroll as a full-time F-1/J-1 international student)

VISA Requirements

Do not come to Oregon until you have received an 1-20 Form and have secured the appropriate visa.

Portland State University requires all international students to be in compliance with the regulations and requirements of their visa status.
