Portland State University's Intensive English Language Program (IELP) offers intensive, academic-based English language (ESL) classes for:

• International students
• Adults and professionals
  
• International visitors (including visiting faculty and spouses)
• Members of Portland's international and immigrant communities
  and those who:
  
  • Want to improve their English for travel, work, or international communication
    
  • Want to attend college or university in the USA
    
  • Are admitted to PSU but are restricted to ESL
    
  • Are on study abroad programs at PSU
